AWS re:Invent is Amazon Web Services' annual customer and partner conference: five days of keynotes, technical sessions, an expo floor and a full evening program spread across resort venues on the Las Vegas Strip. For exhibitors and sponsors, the photography produced during the week is working material: booth and demo documentation, executive and keynote moments, press and social content, and the record of every customer meeting and reception your team hosts.
That makes the weeks before the conference the right time to book. re:Invent draws tens of thousands of attendees to Las Vegas - AWS reported more than 63,000 in person in 2025 - and photographers with real conference and expo experience are the first to fill their calendars for that week.
The buyers during re:Invent week are mostly professional teams, each with a different shot list:
re:Invent programming runs across several properties on the Strip, and the official agenda lists shuttle service between venues. A single booking can mean an expo floor in the morning and a reception at a different property that evening. Build realistic transfer buffers into your schedule, and share venues, call times and access details with your photographer up front.
Expo floors, sessions and evening venues each have their own access rules. Confirm early what badge, media pass or staff access your photographer needs for each assignment and who arranges it - your exhibit or sponsor contact is usually the route for on-floor coverage. Off-site receptions usually just need a name on the list and a contact on site.
Expo halls, darkened keynote rooms, windowless ballrooms and neon-lit evening venues can all appear in the same assignment. An experienced event photographer works fast primes and on-camera and off-camera flash without disrupting sessions or guests. If your booth or event has lighting or flash restrictions, flag them in the brief.
Press and social teams need images while the conference is still news. Decide before you book what you need: same-night selects for social, next-morning press sets, or a full edited gallery within a set number of days. Put the turnaround in writing in your brief so bids price it accurately.
